Sampling Technology (patent pending)

Explosives trace detection (ETD) systems have been widely used in airport check points, ports of entry, government buildings, and other high security facilities and check points. Most of these systems require manual collection of trace particles from examined objects. Sample collection efficiency and consistency pose significant challenges to the effectiveness of the deployed ETD systems.

Recently, Excellims developed a non-contact particle and vapor sampling method based on patented AirComb^TM sampling technology that uses air jet arrays to dislodge particles from the targeted surface, pressure differential to guide the flow toward the collection port, and local closed loop air flow to realize near 100% collection of available particles from the targeted surface.

The AirComb^TM non-contact sampling technology can be used for screening for explosive residues on people as well as moving vehicles.
