Intern (Chemistry / Physics)

What you will do

Working together with other scientists and engineers in our Acton, MA Applications Lab you will design and conduct experiments to evaluate new applications in fields like the characterization of proteins, pharmaceutical production control or quality testing for food products by ion mobility and mass spectrometry. You will be using our existing spectrometers or evaluate new instrument components e.g. for sample handling or ionization. This presents a great opportunity to get practical experience with several modern analytical techniques and to get to know the product development process in a growing technology company.

Whom we are looking for

Ideally, you will have solid previous experience working in a lab and are currently enrolled in a chemistry or physics program at a university in the Boston area. Apart from a good understanding of experimental design and a passion to figure things out we are looking for the following key characteristics:

  • A genuine interest in the development of analytical techniques
  • Excellent time management and focus
  • Scientific rigor in analyzing data and drawing logical conclusions
  • Ability to summarize and communicate results to a variety of different scientists and management
