RA4100 HPIMS-MS Systems

The High Performance Ion Mobility Spectrometer- Mass Spectrometer System (HPIMS-MS) is an atmospheric pressure IMS designed for ultra-high resolution and sensitivity in a compact format coupled to a quadrupole mass spectrometer. The complete system incorporates an electrospray ionization source, Excellims' proprietary high performance ion mobility analyzer, and Excellims' UIMSC-2 Universal Ion Mobility Spectrometer controller. The sample introduction assembly also includes a gas sample inlet that allows introduction of chemical vapor samples to the HRIMS analyzer. A thermal desorber and corona discharge and Ni63 ionization sources are also available.

The HPIMS can be operated in either positive or negative ion modes, from ambient temperature to 250oC. Typical ion mobility spectra are generated within 20 ms for most chemicals. The HPIMS system is interfaced to a single quadrupole mass spectrometer. Flexible sample introduction allows analysis of liquid, gas and solid samples. Excellims VisIonTM data acquisition system includes hardware and software for acquiring, storing, and displaying ion mobility data as well as ion mobility – mass linked data. Applications include routine ion mobility - mass separation and analysis, validation of IMS field applicability and separation and identification of enantiomers when a chiral IMS is implemented in front of the MS.
